Description
THE AIM OF THE EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK TRAINING COURSE:
To train candidates to the required standards (as directed by Health Safety Executive) in the duties of a nominated Emergency First Aider. We shall enable delegates to render the initial help necessary in order to give a casualty treatment for sudden injury or illness until professional help arrives.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Personnel selected to be Emergency First Aiders.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
Emergency First Aid At Work Training Course candidates do not require any previous experience but must be able to certify that they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them from attending this course. Delegates should be able to write and speak in English. Safety equipment will be supplied by your trainer.
COURSE SUMMARY:
Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercises, all of which are highlighted by the use of Video Presentations covering.
- Principles of First Aid
- Dealing with the Unconscious Casualty
- Resuscitation
- Epilepsy
- Bandaging
- Diabetes
- Asphyxia
- Hysteria
- CPR (including use of defibrillator)
- Eye Irrigation
- Control of Bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Poisons
CERTIFICATION:
Certificate of Competence, valid for 3 years before renewal.
